newsletters >> Fall’s Back!! And so is the Newsletter.
After a long, hot summer, the crisp cool air in the mornings feels kind of nice. Well if you follow our website or receive our newsletter, you know it’s been a long time since our last update. If this is your first time to view the newsletter, then you haven’t missed much. It’s been a busy year up to this point with some changes taking place. Change is a part of life and a part of the continuing growth of a business. As of April of this year, Malcolm Miles, long-term employee and past-owner of Miles-Richmond, is no longer with the company. We continue in providing our community with full services in both remodeling and new construction. We wish Malcolm the best in his new endeavors.
It has been an eventful year so far. With the hurricane Katrina tragedy we assisted our local Lion’s Club in providing a drop off point for relief items going to the storm-ravaged area. With the support of local businesses and members of the community, we were able to fill an entire semi trailer with food, water, clothing and other needed items. A big thank you to the community for its support.
We also were privileged that Union County High School’s only
state-qualified girls golfer is a part of the Miles-Richmond family. Darah
Finch, daughter of co-owner Gary Finch, advanced to the state finals. She
only missed the final day cut by 2 strokes. In our own world of golf, we had our second annual Miles-Richmond golf outing the first part of October. Mark’s team finished first in a scramble format; Don’s team finished last. So you can see who plays golf and who works in this company. A good time was had by all, topped off with a dinner at Ansley’s Café.
As we see the end of another year draw near, I hope you have been blessed this past year. We also extend a special thanks to all of our customers whom we have had the privilege of working with.

JOBS: As this year winds down we have just completed a new home on Cobblestone Drive in Oxford and have two more new homes in various stages of completion. One on White Oak in Oxford and one on Velocipede Road in Union County. We are also nearing the completion of the addition to Bath State Bank in Bath, IN. There will be some interior remodeling to take place there after their customer appreciation day in December. We continue to stay busy with remodeling and room additions throughout eastern Indiana and western Ohio.
PRODUCTS: We continue in our efforts to keep our showroom up to date and to make available to our customers the best that the industry has to offer. Offering our customers a wide selection of quality products has always been our goal. We receive new product updates on a regular basis in an effort to provide you with the latest in product availability. Feel free to stop by and visit our showroom anytime Monday thru Friday 7:00-5:00, Saturday’s by appointment. We hope to see you soon!
FOR YOUR INFORMATION: In our continued effort to stay on top off all the rules and regulations that affect our industry, Don attended a codes seminar in Indianapolis addressing the new 2003 international building code. Yes I said the “new” 2003 code; that’s the government for you. With these new changes we have issued our foremen building code reference books addressing the code issues we face on a regular basis. This is a part of our effort to provide the quality product and service that we are known for. As we face the aftermath of Katrina and Rita and rising fuel costs, the inevitable is sure to happen--the increased cost and limited availability of building materials. The extent of this problem is yet to be seen; and if were lucky, it won’t be as bad as the picture the media insists on painting. All of us here at Miles-Richmond are continuing to do our best to make our product as affordable as possible while still maintaining the high levels of quality and service our customers expect. In this same effort of providing quality service to our customers, don’t forget to check out our One Year Follow-up program listed on our web site; www.miles-richmond.com. This program involves having a Miles-Richmond representative go back to our job sites approximately one year from the date of completion to inspect the work and make necessary repairs, as applicable. This also allows the customers to address any questions or concerns they may have about their past project or possibly about other projects they may be considering. We hope this effort to service our product will instill even more consumer confidence in the product we offer.
Please visit our web site periodically to see what’s happening here at Miles-Richmond. From the staff at Miles-Richmond, may God continue to bless you and your family! If you have any ideas for what you would like to see in future newsletters, please e-mail me at don@miles-richmond.com.
